NOT-GOING-TO-BLADE-SHOW SALE!!!

***READ CAREFULLY***

-Starting this evening, Saturday May 16th, 2020, at 6:00 PM/CST, I will begin taking the purchases for the items that were slated for Blade Show and are now listed on the “Currently Available Items” page of the website.

-I will only take purchase requests through either the website contact page or my email at dfurey71@yahoo.com and there is NO list of buyers being started prior to the aforementioned time.

-I WILL NOT respond or consider any attempts at purchases prior to the latter stated date and time, so be vigilant and ready.  The items are “first come, first serve” as I am trying to be as fair as possible to everyone that wants a blade.  I will go through the messages and will take the first person who wants that purchase.

-Payments must be made immediately once you have been verified as the first buyer of the item. There absolutely not be any reserves or holds on items until a later date for payment.  If the payment is not received within 1-hour from the time I acknowledge you as the first purchaser, the item will remain for sale and you will be knock from the list.  It may sound harsh, but I have to be fair to everyone.

-Payments will be made through PayPal Goods and Services.  Do not send any funds until you have determined to be the purchaser.  Also, DO NOT make any notes to what the purchase is for in the PayPal notes.  If you must put something, use “CUSTOM”.

With all this being said, thank you and good luck!

Denny

ANNOUNCEMENT

Please pay attention to all details included in this posting

-Sometime this weekend (May 16th and 17th, 2020) I will be adding blades for sale to the “Currently Available Items” page on my website.

-The announcement for the sale posting will be going through the Announcements Blog on the website. Anyone who has not done so yet, go to the main page and subscribe to the blog. This is how I will be making said announcements from today and on, as it is very time consuming going to each social media platform, groups, etc. and posting individually.

-The Blog will send a notification to the email you signed up with when I make any announcements.

-I will not be posting a list before hand as to what items will be available, because honestly, I haven’t determined what ones I will be retaining.

-I will not allow reserves on items, as I am trying to be as fair as possible to all those who have shown interest or are interested it purchasing one of my knives. Items are first come, first served on the purchases, so stay frosty.

-I will only take purchase requests through either the website contact page or my email:

dfurey71@yahoo.com

-The announcement with be labeled “Not Going to Blade Show Sale”, as I had to cancel due to their date change. (We will be there in 2021).

I want to thank everyone for your support, because without you, I couldn’t do what I love.

Good luck,

Blade Show…

Blade Show management has emailed us and advised they have moved the Show to August 7th – 9th, 2020, after they had sent us (and all exhibitors) this in an email a couple of weeks ago, and I quote,

“We sincerely thank all the exhibitors who participated in our survey regarding a possible date change. The response and feedback was overwhelming and we appreciate your input.
Upon further discussion with all our partners, we feel moving the date back three weeks will put more strain on exhibitors and attendees in regards to flight changes, hotel reservation changes, etc.
Please note, prior to sending out the date change scenario survey, we had already inquired about Show dates in later months, and the Cobb Galleria has nothing available.
Within the next couple of weeks, we will make a final decision on whether we host the show on its regularly scheduled dates or cancel completely.”

This is contrary to what they have now sent out and seems that they do not want to loose money; however, this will definitely impact the crowd that would usually attend, which means it impacts our income.

So, I regretfully and frustratingly inform everyone that Furey’s Urban Combat Knives-Unlimited will not be attending these new dates as it interferes with other engagements.

We will be there in 2021 as I am having Blade Show management transfer the exhibitors fees to reserve the 2021 show. I’m very sorry and hope everyone understands.

The stock I have been building for this show will eventually be put up for sale on the website. I will send out another announcement when this occurs.

Thank you, Denny

Welcome to Furey’s Urban Combat Knives – Unlimited©

I want to welcome you to Furey’s Urban Combat Knives – Unlimited, a veteran owned and operated business.

BIO:

My name is Denny Furey and I am a full-time custom bladesmith, knife maker, and designer located in Spring, Texas. I specialize in self defense, fighting, military, and first responder oriented edged weapons, knives, and tools.  However, I am also experienced in making hunting, kitchen, and EDC knives, as well.

I am a military veteran of Operations Desert Shield/Storm/Provide Comfort and the Global War on Terrorism, having served 10-years (both active duty and reserves) in the United States Air Force Security Police/Forces as a Non-Commissioned Officer. I also served 20-years as law enforcement officer, having worked numerous aspects of the job, ranging from patrolman to chief of police in the state of Oklahoma.  I also served in the capacity as a Senior SWAT Commander, Operator and Instructor, developing curriculum, to include edged weapons defense and application for SWAT schools and defensive tactics/combatives.

I have been a life-long martial arts and combatives student, practitioner, and instructor; still serving as a instructor upon request (Furey Combatives).  This background is what started me on the road to become an avid knife collector, edged weapons student, and instructor. I also run Furey Combatives/Martial Arts Systems of Self Defense.

After relocating from Oklahoma to Texas, a close friend and a professional knife maker suggested I try my hand at making blades as well, due to my background.  I jumped in with both feet and found I had an affinity at developing and producing quality knives. I have been mentored by two extremely talented blade makers, as well as completed collaboration builds with other professional bladesmiths and makers.

I am certified as a LoneStar Maker with the Texas Knifemaker’s Guild and an apprentice Bladesmith with the American Bladesmith Society.
