This is notice that Furey’s Urban Combat Knives-Unlimited, will no longer be providing “Prototyping” services for anyone else’s designs. The policy and procedures have been removed from my website. Thank you.

For those who have gotten “sticker shock” when quoted a price on one of my custom knives, this announcement is for you, as well as, future clients.

Prices for all materials across the board (steel, handle materials, hardware, tooling, abrasives, shipping costs, etc) have increased dramatically over the last few years. The is absolutely no way I can eat all the costs on my end if I am trying to make a reasonable profit. I also have to take into consideration my time and my business reputation, which although I could not charge what normal businesses do, can not be just “free”. My business would fold.

With all that being said, prices for my custom work has increased noticeably. For those that have purchased from me in the past, there is no viable way for me to charge the prices I did from a few years ago, for the same blade that I would make today. So, if you want a custom blade at a “production” or “mainstream” price, it’s not going to happen.

I want to wish all my friends and family a Merry Christmas! And I thank you all for the words of encouragement and support, as well as your patience, with my recent major surgery.

The shop will be closed starting on Thursday, December 21st, 2023 until sometime in mid to late February. I will be having major surgery, which I have no way of avoiding and can have no physical exertion during the 6-10 week recovery. Thank you for your understanding and support.
